Fosamax Lawyers Cases

Fosamax widely is prescribed for the treatment of osteoporosis, a condition that results in bone loss and typically affects postmenopausal women.

Fosamax is associated with osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ), a serious condition where the jaw bone decays and becomes exposed. In some patients, osteonecrosis will lead to the complete deterioration of the jaw.

Fosamax Side Effects—Osteonecrosis of the Jaw Contact Us

Fosamax belongs to a class of drugs known as bisphosphonates. These drugs are prescribed for treatment of osteoporosis.

Several groups of researchers have linked Fosamax, and other bisphophonates, with osteonecrosis of the jaw. One review of 63 osteonecrosis patients found that all 63 had used bisphosphonates prior to developing this disease.

An article published by researchers at the School of Dental Medicine at Harvard concluded that Fosamax and other drugs in its class could cause serious complications and use of them should be carefully monitored.
